Map Update

Well the map has been going well. Modeling is right on schedule with the base completed and side models in between bases being created. Here is a little preview of what has been going on:

The next step is to import it into the Unreal Editor 3 and then start arranging the vehicles and weapon lockers within it. But that is the Map Editor’s job. My job is as I said to add in the next pieces. I am going to start with this:  It is only a small outpost but I think it will be a good forward spawn location, as well as a vehicle spawning location. Most of what I have been doing is that of laying the foundation for the map to fill with content.

After this project my next work is to create the landing site for our hero of the story. Now from the history of Mass Effect 2, which we are basing our map in, Shepherd had one of two ways to get onto a planet. The primary method was through the Kodiak. So we are going to come up with a landing area, with cargo crates and the Kodiak itself somewhere on the map. I don’t want to give away too much of the story, but they need to fix the Normandy! This is what the Kodiak looks like.

While I wont be texturing it, I am excited to get a mock up of this to at least throw in. I haven’t been able to find many detailed images of the Kodiak yet, hopefully something will turn up soon.
